Discovering raw food
It all started in the early 2000s, when Claudie Botté went sightseeing in California. There, she discovered the Raw Food trend. Raw food consists of consuming mainly uncooked or minimally processed foods, with the aim of preserving their natural nutrients and enzymes. An idea sprouts in the head of this creative and innovative cooking “chef”. “Why not import this brilliant concept of healthy, raw food to France?”
The idea is as simple as 1: consume unprocessed and entirely raw or dehydrated foods at less than 45°C. This production process keeps the benefits of food intact and facilitates digestion. “Why didn’t I think of that sooner?” Claudie said to herself.
Clean Label DNA
Conquered by the virtues of Raw Food, Claudie packs her suitcase, gets on the plane and returns to the country. She uses Raw Food to create healthy, natural, delicious, organic and gluten-free fruit snack bars. And the result is amazing! The Gourmie's brand was born.
From 2011 to 2015, Gourmie’s enjoyed success. The brand is gradually gaining fame. The number of customers increases and the brand builds a core of loyal consumers, some of whom buy a complete display of a variety of bars, they are so hooked!
In June 2018, Olivier Nouvel took over the company Gourmie's convinced by 3 elements which make up the company's DNA: The company is organic. The bars are “Raw food” or “raw”. The recipes are simple: 3 to 5 ingredients per bar, that's it! No additives or processing aids: fruit, just fruit. Gourmiz’ is a Clean Label workshop and must remain so.
Innovation true to values
Olivier is determined. It starts by shortening the name. Gourmie’s becomes Gourmiz’. It's more fun and easier to pronounce. He is recruiting a small R&D team to develop new products and offer new flavors to Gourmiz’ addicts and others. He develops partnerships with professional athletes. Olivier doesn’t stop there! Seeing that the bars were very popular with athletes, he launched a series of bars rich in protein.
In 2023, always with the idea of going further, Gourmiz' is joining forces with Bonnes Choses: a group of small French companies brought together by their attachment to the French terroir, their desire to offer Clean Label and quality products while while preserving the environment. On the road to adventure, with ever more energy!
