Ethical & responsible
Profit and profit are not our main driving force. we are developing a social and supportive approach. We strengthen our commitment by working in association with ESATs (Work Support Establishment and Service). The company thus contributes to the professional activity of people with disabilities by giving them packaging and labeling missions.
The objective of Gourmiz' is also to enable ethical consumption and responsible eating. We therefore follow principles of sustainability and ecology to reduce our environmental footprint as much as possible.
Our ingredients? They like to travel. Well, not too far. We bring them to France by sea and land in order to limit our carbon footprint as much as possible.
And for some of them, like cocoa derivatives or Amazon nuts, we play the fair trade card to promote the work of local producers. The cocoa comes from a Peruvian solidarity cooperative, SALDAC (Solidarity with Latin America for the Autonomous Development of Communities), and the nuts from the Amazon are bought from NATURAL ANDES.
Concerning the packaging and inks used, a discussion was initiated with professionals to obtain eco-responsible packaging that can withstand the strong constraints in terms of impermeability or barrier to water vapor and oxygen. And finally let’s talk about waste. Rather than letting the bars expire or throwing away the broken ones, Gourmiz' sells these non-compliant bars at reduced prices on anti-waste applications like To Good To Go or Phenix.
At Gourmiz', we don't just make bars. We mix ethics, respect for the planet and a hint of mischief to create a winning cocktail.
